Someone at the law firm I work for brought in a few boxes of danish pastries from here today. OH... MY... WORD. So delicious! I couldn't decide which flavor to get. There was cherry, blueberry, blackberry, and cheese. They all looked so good. I ended up choosing cheese. It reminded me of a concha. Perfect midday pick me up.

I have been coming here for 30 or 40 years. That long who cares. The challah is soft and mine had plenty of raisins. I got chocolate chip danish. I cut them in half because I can't eat a full one. They're pretty big. So I cut them in half. And they freeze well. The only problem today was I waited a while. But that was ok. I went next store and got two dr. Browns diet black cherry soda. Like I said, I've been coming here for a long time and the bakery has kept up at standards. A lot of bakeries I've gotten really small chocolate chip danish now they took you from big. I recommend

Bea's has been a valley staple since I was still going to my pediatrician across the street (I'll give you a hint - that's a long time). They have an amazing rugelach selection, as well as selection of smaller pastries and desserts. We usually come for the challah and more recently, their ube challah and desserts! We recommend Bea's for all occasions and love that they are still around and keep the old school vibe.

Bea's Bakery on Clark Street, in Tarzana, is a "must go", if you like cookies and breads. There is a variety here and it also includes cakes and pastries. The difficult part here is, what do I choose, because everything looks so good? I was here to pick up stuff to take home and try out. So, I chose something, colorful and in a small quantity. Just 4 pieces of the holiday cookies and 1 piece each of the mini hamataschens (see my pictures). The counter server kept asking me if that was all, several times. Most patrons were leaving with big bags. LOL. While all the cookies were well prepared, not too sweet and flavorful, I do have a favorite (even though my sample size is small). It was the rectangular holiday cookies that had both of the flavorings (apricot and berry?) in one cookie. The piece had attractive optics. It also had the perfect blend of taste, chew and texture. Service was hurried. There was constant foot traffic. Another good bakery find. Give the place a visit and let me know what you think.
